STUDENT LOANS COMPANY NEEDS LEADERSHIP CHANGE

Commenting on the publication of the Review of the Student Loans Company (SLC), Welsh Liberal Democrat MP for Cardiff Central, said:

"This report reveals a breathtaking level of incompetence within the Student Loans Company.

"The SLC's incompetence this year left thousands of students without their loans and facing real hardship.

"If the SLC wants to regain the trust of the thousands of students it let down, a change of leadership is needed.

"The Government was desperately slow at waking up to the problems at the SLC. Lessons need to be learned so that this doesn't happen again in the future."
